I'm not very school smart. But I am. Know what I mean? Haha me neither. I liked school, but didn't love it. I'm a horrible speller and math is hard for me but I appreciate everything about learning. And all the work our AP teachers did to get us ready for those exams but honesty I don't care if you got straight A's. I like to have intellectual coversation but going to college and knowing about Ancient Roman History are not important to me. I guess I'm more of a creative smart. I always have good ideas and am inventing cool things and thinking I wish I knew how to make this idea a reality. I am interested in fashion. But not in a typical sense. I like creating new, interesting outfits and digging through stuff at TJMaxx to ensure my shirts are unique. I am constantly searching for cool new rings and anything else that catches my eye in a store; Belts, hats etc.

I'm looking for a guy who knows when they meet me that things are going to get interesting. Must be inspired or at least be able to inspire. Enjoys the luxury of food, will buy me flowers every once in a while. Can't a girl get even a smidge (sp?) of romance these days? Hey so I'm 23 and just kinda over the bar scene in terms of dating, not over going to them though lol. Umm I'm taking a break and working now since I just finished college, eventually I'm going to grad school to be a teacher. Umm I've never been on a jamacian bobsled team or on an effin reality show or have any aspirations of being on one (your welcome :)) I'm super afraid of bugs. I like beer..there I said it. I grew up in New England - CT, MA & RI. I have an amazing family who are supportive, sarcastic, funny and love the Patriots. Coming from this family has made me positive, good natured, down to earth and slightly competitive. I have three brothers and we all played sports growing up. I was fortunate to have both parents in and around the academic setting. My ancestry is English, Irish, Scottish, French, and my maternal grandmother was Mexican. This made conversations at the dinner table very interesting. Never a dull moment. Growing up as a middle child made me the diplomat between my family. I still find myself working things out for them, even though I am 3, 000 miles away. I don't mind it, keeps me on my toes.

My family is very important to me, and so are my friends. I have found a good group of friends here in S. California. They are into surfing, snowboarding, volleyball, hiking and being outside. We have fun playing golf on the occasion, drinking a beer at a sports bar, or shooting pool. I think one is defined by the company we keep. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junky in disguise. I have strong desires to do crazy things (which is why I've raced cars), but my logical mind usually gets the better of me.

Interestingly enough, I love to play sports, but hate to watch them. I guess I'd rather be a part of the fun than a spectator. Tennis is actually one of my favorites.

I love spending time with friends (too bad I haven't made any out here in Redondo just yet; i've only been here for a month or so). Everything from hiking, to lying on the couch watching a movie is cool with me.

I'm a visual learner, and as weird as it sounds, I like bright colors, contrast, soothing lights, & shiny things.

I'm writing music every day, all day. I'm writing right now. It's not a ''sit down and come up with something'' for me no more. Life is a song, and I've realized that. I got a leash on it now and I know how to walk it. I am music. And wherever I go, music is being written, even if I haven't heard the melody yet. It's almost like the saying, ''Why wouldn't I want the ball if I've already made the shot?" And that's pretty much my mentality when it comes to what I do. I've already written the song. And you've already bought it and loved it. That's how I have to look at it. I don't write music, I write life. You can't go wrong writing life, because you're continuously giving people who they are. My music is the world's mirror.

I have a wide perpective on life (and stuff) although perhaps sometimes I need to think less about the big picture and more about what's in front of my nose. Love travel, went on a brilliant roadtrip to Portland this year, and also popped over to China, which was a bit further. Just started yoga, no idea how that will work out.

I suppose I can be a bit of a trouble maker. I'm not much of a materialist, but I do love the good things in life. Quality not quantity or something like that. Love hiking, camping sometimes too. I lived in Brussels for years, quit a boring Government job, and moved to the States to pursue writing.

Well let me tell you a little about myself. I am a rocket scientist Iâ??ve worked on rockets, rocket engines, satellites, and I currently work on designing electrical systems for spacecraft. Iâ??ve had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of the space shuttle and explore the Apollo capsules. I love my job and my industry and if I could do anything for a day it would be to experience space and everything it has to offer. I know I know, itâ??s a little nerdy, but I canâ??t help it, itâ??s my passion. Iâ??m not a Star Trek fanatic though so at least I have some sense ;-D

I'm a very active person, physically and mentally. I like to keep myself moving whether it's playing tennis or other sports to going for my masterâ??s degree after work. I definitely know how to relax to a good movie or conversation when I wind down from a long day. I love to laugh and am up for any adventure.

Music is a passion of mine. I listen to music to unwind after a long day, to keep me focused on my work, or to just generally rock out :-). I love scenery beyond the imagination. Places like Death Valley where you can experience a vast sea of sand dunes and hike to the top of a lively mountain in the same day.

I love playing sports (even if Iâ??m miserable at some of them) I just picked up golf in the last couple of weeks and I love itâ?¦.even though I almost hit a guy when I sliced the ball into a crowd of people. I might need some tips on how to hit my driver :-).

Iâ??m a very caring individual and I prefer to have a smaller group of very close people in my life rather than a crowded group of people who are just for show.

I'm looking for a real relationship with someone who knows how to have a good time but also knows when to just take a break and relax. Someone who is passionate about what they do in life and passionate about the people in their life. Someone who questions life and will question me. Sassy is definitely a requirement ;-). I want somebody I can talk to and have a conversation with. I want somebody I can tease and laugh with and vice versa. A real relationship in my opinion is a fun one. Romance is a top priority but being best of friends is paramount.

For all intents and purposes, I'm a hipster. I watch movies by Wes Anderson, I listen to bands that most people haven't heard of, and the lines between ironic enjoyment and the actual fun has become blurred ("the World Series of Air Guitar? What could be funner than that!"). The one thing that hasn't translated is in my clothing style, since I don't keep the Jaws of Life handy around the house to get out of my pants. According to one of my friends this makes me "the hippest hipster of them all", but I'm not entirely sure if she meant this or if it's like when my Mom told me I was cool in 7th grade.

Since I can't pay the bills by acting like I'm already over everything I'm an engineer in the aerospace industry. I like to think that I can at least groom myself and talk about something besides the merits of PHP versus ASP, but, I'm really, really good at Rock Band, so I'm right back to reinforcing stereotypes.

In general, I like to stay active and head out on adventures. I run a decent amount, play golf, and am a whiffle ball All Star. Staying in and watching a movie is fun once in a while, but I'd much rather go check out the grilled cheese festival or something similar. If I come into work on Monday and don't have any good stories to tell, I feel like I failed the weekend.

I live in Redondo Beach and work full time in email marketing. I enjoy entertaining and enjoying a new bottle of wine with friends. As a friend I'm present, attentive and perceptive. In friendship I prefer quality over quantity. I am the guy that follows a different drummer and tries to live a self-examined life. I try not to sweat the small stuff, I'm pretty easy-going in that regard. But the big stuff, which to me are ethics and morality, are important to me.

At this time of my life, I'm pretty comfortable. There isn't any drama. I can develop my life in the way I see fit. I know everybody "likes traveling" but since as a teacher, I still get summer vacations, I am really crazy about traveling. My goal is to see at least 70% of the world's countries.

Also, I'm surprised to read some profiles that are essentially blank, except for "You'll have to ask me about my self later so we have something to talk about on a first date." Let's be serious, nobody can dry up all future conversations by reading a page or two about someone else. My idea is that this website is about compatibility, not booty calls. How does that saying go? "Everyone's life is a book!"

I can be extremely articulate, if works hasn't made me too tired. Also, I am a very good communicator within intimate relationships. I will listen to what you have to say, and if it makes sense, I have no problem admitting I'm wrong. I want this trait in a partner as well.

Some other random stuff. I don't drink, smoke or use drugs. I don't mind if someone has a social drink every once in awhile, but that's about it.

I would like eventually share the experience of beginning a family with somebody special, who would also be beginning a family. I would like to date someone that can give a family without tons of fertility drugs. So yes, that means I would prefer someone younger than myself and who doesn't already have kids. I am guessing late 20's to early 30's. I know this maybe asking for a lot, but I really know what I want. I want to share very special experiences with a special someone. I'm willing to hold out for the right person and stay true to myself.

Learning the hard way I have discovered that the best partner for romance is most likely not the best partner for settling down, so, the way I approach dates is different because of it.

I try to keep my act together mentally, physically and spiritually and I want the same from my partner. I have a little asthma sometimes that can be pesky, but that's it.
